Bring the family! For those Scouts and parents who wish to try out backpacking, we'll have the gear and food and will show you how Saturday morning before we head up the rio just 2.5 miles into the Pecos Wilderness. For those not backpacking there will be all kinds of fun Saturday day and evening.

About the Event
We encourage all parents to join us, with their family in tow, for some great fun, cooking and camraderie. Scouts and parents who wish to try out backpacking will get their chance to learn how and then hike to a beautiful meadow by the river in the Pecos Wilderness, an easy 2.5 mile hike up the Rio Santa Barbara. For those in camp and not backpacking Saturday, there will be some Trail-to-First Class activity, games and lots of grilling and dutch oven cooking. Everyone is welcome to join the backpackers for a day hike part or all the way to our campsite. It's all free, but we are accepting donations.
